According to NdS, the workshop consisted of three rooms.
The room with the entrance doorway also contained the staircase to the upper floor.
The room on the left (south) of it was described as a rear room.
The rear room had rustic walls and an earthen floor.
The third room was the one entered at VI.16.9.

According to NdS, the small entrance room contained the first section of the staircase with five masonry steps.
At the top of the masonry steps was a staircase landing in wood supported by the beams.
Above the landing, wooden stairs continued to the upper floor.
At the foot of the stairs was the circular mouth of a terracotta cistern.
Found under the landing was a deposit of amphorae.
